Birds Birds Birds

Today we went to the Canberra Walk In Aviary. We'd walked past it plenty of times when we'd been at Gold Creek, but I checked the prices once and thought it was a bit expensive. Then recently I saw a deal on Groupon, for all three of us for $12, so I snapped that up. We had such a lovely time there! There were lots of rainbow lorikeets, quite a few cockateils, budgies and some other sweet little birds. We were given some apple to feed to them and we also purchased some mealworms. Boy they loved the mealworms! Some would turn up their noses (maybe I should say "nostrils") at the apple and seek out the mealworms. It was fascinating to watch them eat the mealworms too. They would nibble along the worm from side to side, extracting the innards and ended up just leaving the shell. Those clever birds.
