Engagement Party Weekend

I went to Sydney on the weekend for my sister Charlotte and Will's engagement party! I'm going to apologise in advance for the mediocre photos. In my old age I have come to the conclusion that I am hopeless at photographing "events". Especially at night time, outdoors, with little lighting!

Here's the sweet happy couple.I decided to leave Dave and Tassy at home, and just take myself, since that would be so much easier. It was great cos I was free to just go with the flow on Saturday, have breakfast out with my sisters (dining out with just my sisters is an extreme rarity!), help prepare salads with Alicia and Charlotte, hang out at Alicia's before getting changed, then head over to Will's place to set up for the party. Here we are at breakfast in Westfield Parramatta. Charlotte has been talking about Cupcakes on Pitt in Parramatta for months now and I've been dying to try some of their cupcakes! So we headed to the other side of Westfield to get some cupcakes, and we couldn't help doing some shopping on the way! lol I managed to buy a top and two pairs of shoes. I was stoked with that!! The cupcakes were SO good! Lots of beautiful flavours. I don't like butter cream at all (who's with me?) so that reduced my selection quite a bit, but I loved the peanut butter, and lemon meringue. mmmmm....

The engagement party was held at Will's family home. His Dad is a Chinese chef (or "chief" as he calls it!). There were over 100 people there, and he made enough chinese food to feed everyone, with heaps left over! Wow, what a lot of food! Plus there was spitroast and salads. I ate SO much and was totally full, and I only sampled about half the food there! It was so good. The "chief" made the BEST honey chicken. I said to Will later that it was my favourite dish and "is that a real guilo (white Aussie) dish?". He said "very much so" lol. It was a great party. I met Will's family for the first time. Here are his siblings who were so lovely and friendly and welcomed us into their home. Now it's time for photo overload! Remember, I warned you the quality is pretty bad!

Speech time, nice and informal. Just like Charlotte and Will. :)

I thought your pic's were good, don't underestimate yourself. Love the pic of Will's dad, he reminded me of a high profile celebrity, El presidante. What a nice family they are. It was really good to see you and have a chat. Until next time. Love Kerrie.

always love reading about your family Yvette - you're all such a lovely bunch!! And what a lovely post about your weekend away!! I think your photos are great - but I get what you mean about outdoor, night time, low lighting - all hard conditions to photograph groups of people in:)
