Xander's Stocking

I was so happy to finish my nephew Xander's Christmas stocking just in time for his Christening. Nice timing that Christening - right at the beginning of the Christmas season! It fit in perfectly with my gift.

So here is the finished product. I'm happy to say it was well received. I had some doubts about whether or not my sister would like it. It's totally not her style being so traditional. But she loved it. And my brother in law's reaction was awesome. He studied it for ages constantly saying "F@#$ I can't believe you really did every one of those stitches!". lol. Yes it took a while. Good thing I like to watch movies. :)

My brother in law is a carpenter so he was stoked that the scene was set in a workshop (well not any old workshop - Santa's workshop!).

Oh Yvette it is beautiful. That is such a lovely tradition you do for your nieces and nephews. So thoughtful thinking to do a carpenters shop. Great work. AAJ

JUST BEAUTIFUL!
So should Will and I choose a short name so it's easier to stitch? LOL!!
I'm so glad she liked it and how funny that David should appreciate how much time it took! I'm sure most guys wouldn't!

A name suggestion perhaps? LOL!

I am so proud of what you do. Can I claim any responsibility for your talent. I did leave you home by yourself a couple of times so you had to read the patterns and work things out for yourself. Does that count. You are so neat in your work too. The stocking was finished off beautifully.
Love Mum

What a wonderful gift - no doubt your nephew will treasure it each year! I know it took me over a year to make each of mine when my two teens were babies. How lovely that you collected all the different patterns.
