More quilts

Wow, thanks so much for your lovely comments about the quilt!

I thought it might be fun to show you the other two quilts I have made. Seems like I'm averaging about a quilt a decade. First, there's the quilt I made in the 80s, when I was a teenager. I cross stitched these itty bitty little squares, then later made them into a cot quilt. Actually, it's more of a bassinette quilt. It's only small. I didn't have a pattern for the quilt and just made it up as I went along. I had a pattern for the cross stitching of course.
Here it is in Tassy's bassinette in 2002, when Tassy was still cosy in my tummy. So that was the 80s quilt. Then there was the 90s quilt. I didn't really have a pattern for this one either. I found a pattern in a magazine for making the pinwheel block, and just kept making more and more till it seemed like it might be the right kinda size for a single bed. This turned out really well and I still like it, but I REALLY don't like the colours. I am totally not into "country" colours. One of my friends recently called this "The Autumn Quilt". That sounds so much nicer than "The Nineties Country Quilt". I put it on Tassy's bed occasionally - I like that it's homey and handmade. It totally doesn't go with her pink room tho!
So that was the 90s quilt. And I just finished my third quilt in time for the end of this decade. Now I have ten years to make the next one. :)

LOL...Does that mean we really have to wait another 10 years to see another gorgeous quilt from you?! Oh no! :) You're too too clever Yvette! These two quilts look beautiful as well.

I'm about to start my very first quilt ever... now I'm worried about how long it's going to take me! LOL

haha, I had the same question as Sheree, will it be another 10 years?! Lol. Actually, the new decade starts next year so you're pretty lucky you finished this one this year or you would have missed out on this decade!!
I like the Autumn quilt, it reminds me of a log cabin. If you ever holiday in a cabin you can take it with you and take some cool pics laying on it in front of
a fire!

WV: Pressivo
Yvette is very im-pressivo with her quilt making!
