Special Mothers Day

It was a lucky coincidence that my parents were coming to Canberra the day before Mothers Day for a 50th wedding anniversary, cos that meant I got to spend Mothers Day with my mum for the first time in about 15 YEARS! We had a lovely day and went to a local homestead for lunch.

Dave and I don't do regular presents for Mothers Day or Fathers Day in our house (and I love that!). Tassy made me a card and bought me something at the Mothers Day stall at school. She was busting for me to open my present and couldn't stop talking about it beforehand. I kept saying "don't say anything else, I want it to be a surprise!". She told me over and over how much I was going to LOVE her present. So bright and early on Sunday morning she brought in my present and helped me open it - a beautiful little hanging half doll. I even have an Aussie book "The Half Dolls" that I loved to read when I was young and Tassy and I read it last year. So it was sentimental, even if Tassy doesn't remember the book! I'll post a photo of the present soon. I forgot to take a photo!

Here a nice photo of Mum and I together at lunch - it's rare to have a photo of just the two of us!
and with Tassy... and with Scruffy DaveHappy Mothers Day Mum - it was so good to spend it with you!!!
