Owl mug cosy

Charlotte has been emailing me a few links to things on Pinterest that she thought I might like to crochet. I'm still a beginner and most of them are too hard for me yet! But when she emailed me a link to a mug cosy I thought I might be up to doing that.

This is the image from Pinterest and the instructions are here.

I obviously didn't follow the instructions properly - which I realised about a quarter of the way through. But instead of undoing and redoing, I just continued. So my stitches are a lot closer together than the photo above. I somehow dropped a stitch half way through too - BUMMER! You can't see it in the photo. ;) I didn't really like the shape of the original beak so I made up my own - but I don't really like it better much LOL.

I posted the mug cosy off to Charlotte last week and you can see Charlotte's blog post about it here. :) YAY. Happy mail!

This is so funny. The dropped stitch I thought very cleverly gave him a frown which suited him. Hmm the nose is different from the original and not really owl like. But well done, I just love your endeavours. Nanna Mayfield taught me to crochet when I was 13 but I could only do crocheted collars. But by 22 and pregnant I was getting much better and produced some lovely baby clothes. Keep up the great work.. luv u aaj

I love the owl cosy. You are getting so good with the crochet. Owl cosies are so much more fun than crocheted coathangers!!!!
Can I have some owls for my Craft Sale?
Love Mum
