I bought a vintage linen tablecloth at St Vinnies recently with the intention of making it into skirts, and that's just what I did today! One for Tassy and one for me. Ideally I wanted to make myself a wrap around skirt but the fabric wasn't wide enough, so I made a wrap around skirt for Tassy and a slight A-line skirt for myself. I didn't have a pattern for either - Tassy's was really easy - mine was a little trickier involving lots of adjustments to get it right. I made some more adjustments to mine after the photos were taken. I just love Tassy's and I think it will fit her for years and years! And I was pretty stoked when Dave got home from work and said to Tassy "What's that you're wearing? Where did that come from? I love it! Isn't mummy so clever." Very unlike him! lol. The tablecloth only cost me $5 and the only other things I used were a zip and some bias tape from my stash. What bargain skirts! I also finished Tassy's flowergirl dress today so I'm stoked! YAY ME! I'll have to wait until after the wedding before I can show you that - one month to go!
Please excuse puffy eyes and hair not done - did I mention Tassy was sick and we didn't leave the house all day?Hopefully people won't look at us and whisper to each other "Here come those weirdos wearing tablecloths"!
