Our Sunday

Yesterday Dave played World of Warcraft on his computer for the whole day (no exaggeration!). So today was a family day and it was a great day. First we went to the Tharwa Fair. Tharwa is a teeny tiny town not far from our house (we are on the very edge of Canberra). When I say tiny I mean they have a General Store, Preschool (the rest of the school closed this year) and about five houses! The fair was lots of fun.
Then we went to the Deep Space Communication Complex which I love. It's in the middle of nowhere - surrounded by cows and sheep. It's so cool. You turn off the main road, go up and down a few hills and gullies, then there it is - like a scene from a James Bond movie. I just love the 70m dish - so cool. And it's only 20 mins from our house! We had lunch there then spent some time in the visitors centre. Afterwards we went to a park in the nature reserve nearby. Dave and Tassy were holding hands this time they went down the slide - probably not a great idea! Then just as we turned into our street my mum phoned to say Grandpa had just died. So we will be heading to Sydney for the funeral probably later this week. He was 93. It's always sad when someone dies, but it was also a bit of a relief to know that he is now at peace.

Yvette....I too am sorry to hear your Grandpa has died. Knowing how close all your family is, I am so glad you all have each other to lean on.

I am pleased Tharwa was a great success! Your photos are wonderful....I hope Tassy didn't get thrown off that slide completely!!!

And I think you need to give World of Warcraft a trojan horse or something lol......
