A special layout

My friend Lea popped over yesterday to give us a layout she had created for Tassy. It was to say thank you for Tassy bringing some fun to Bella in hospital. It was so lovely of her. Here is Tassy with the special layout. The photos are of the girls in hospital.

We've been thinking about what we'll do next year when Tassy is at school. I left work ten days before Tassy was born, and by the time she goes to school that will be almost 6 years since I was in the workforce! I can't believe it's been almost 5 years already. Originally we thought that Dave would continue to work full time and I would hopefully be able to work school hours. But Dave is really unhappy working. So we were either thinking of a total career change for him (he is in the Public Service) or maybe more study. Either of those would mean I would have to work full time. Well I had a brilliant idea the other night while I was trying to get to sleep. I want us to both work three days a week. If Dave stayed in the job he's currently in but only worked part time I think it would be much easier for him to handle. He would be away from work more days than he was there. Much better quality of life. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get a job back in the Public Service, hopefully in my old team. One of us would work Mon-Wed and the other Wed-Fri. So Tassy would only have to go into Afterschool Care once a week. And Dave and I would both have two days a week at home to do whatever we like (computer games for him and scrapbooking for me - oh, plus housework too). Plus we could do Canteen, reading etc at school. We could take Tassy to and from school. And weekends would be family time. In school holidays there would only be one day a week when either of us had to take a day's leave. I'm getting really excited about this and it's still a whole year away! I hope it works out the way we want!

Well that was pretty long... If you got bored and skipped it that's fine - I guess I was mainly writing it down for my own benefit :)

Ciao
